Welcome to Good Cover Design

As an indie author, it is hard to get noticed. I have worked with self-publishing authors for almost 20 years and designed hundreds of book covers for all platforms: Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP), Createspace (now KDP), Epub, Paperback, Hardcover and others. Many books have been featured at the London Book Fair. I have designed the winner of the UK Kindle Storyteller Award 2019.

I happily design and illustrate for all genres: From crime to sci-fi, young adult to nonfiction, memoir to chick lit and everything in between. Whatever your book is about, your cover is in safe hands with me.

More about me

Just a few steps to your book cover

Step One: Contact me with details of your requirements and/or ideas. A synopsis or a blurb is always good. A couple of chapters is also of great help and will inspire me. Not to worry if you don’t have any ideas. I am happy to work with a blank canvas as well.

Step Two: Quick Quote – I will provide you with a no-obligation quote and an approximate delivery time. Turnaround times are about 1 to 2 weeks. Let me know if you are on a deadline and I do my very best to get you the first proof within 3 days.

Step Three: Pay 50% – Once you have transferred 50% of the agreed price, I will acknowledge payment and deliver the 1st proof within the agreed time-scale.

Step Four: Sign-Off Artwork – When you are happy with the artwork you will pay the remaining balance and I will send you the final cover file/s as required (jpeg, pdf), either by email or a cloud service like dropbox, wetransfer etc. (depending on file size). Unless otherwise agreed I will provide a jpeg at the standard dimension of 1600 pixels by 2400 pixels which are perfect for Amazon’s Kindle and all other ebook readers.

Step Five: Good Luck! I wish you all the very best of luck with your book and look forward to a continuous working relationship.

Book branding

Let me know if you are planning to write a series so I can design a recognisable brand. Below is an example of a paperback crime series I designed for bestselling author Douglas Watkinson.

Mainstream success

Another brand I designed is the cosy crime series, Lord James Harrington Murder Mysteries by Lynn Florkiewicz, set in the quintessential English village of Cavendish. Magna Publishing, who publish large print and audio editions for the libraries are publishing the whole series.

Give your book a head start with an eye catching cover design that looks professional, gets noticed and ultimately helps to sell your book
